about

Daymé Arocena returns with new single “Trilogía”, a stripped back, enchanting exploration of her Santería spirituality. Like many of her previous outings, it’s rooted in her home of Havana, divided into three movements, each of them named for one of Cuba’s Santería orisha deities. Based in the rhythms of rumba and the sound of the batá drum, it’s another prime example of the spellbinding singer, composer and arranger’s unique vision.

Daymé’s 2017 album “Cubafonía” established her as an important voice in Latin music, collaborating with some of her most important peers in Cuban music, as well as the likes of Dexter Story and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. She’s toured from LA to Tokyo, and shared a magical, off-the-cuff moment with Roy Ayers and Brazilian superstar Ed Motta at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival. Lauded by the likes of Pitchfork, The Guardian and The Wire, she’s featured on NPR and been profiled, as part of “A New Vanguard of Women in Cuban Jazz”, in the New Yorker.
